This page explains how to delete an account for Chit (一票), the receipt-splitting app by Xxxxxxx Systems, and what happens to your data. You only have an account if you signed in. If you never did, your data is only on your phone, and deleting the app removes it.
Delete it in the app
- Open Chit and go to Me › Chit account.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
- If you use Sign in with Apple, you’ll be asked to confirm with Apple once more, so we can revoke Chit’s access to your Apple ID. If you cancel this step, the account is not deleted.
The account is deleted straight away. If revoking Apple access fails (for example on Android), the account is still deleted, and you can remove Chit yourself: Settings › your name › Sign-In & Security › Sign in with Apple › Chit › Stop Using (Apple’s guide).
Ask us to delete it
If you no longer have the app, email privacy@chitsplit.app with the subject “Delete my Chit account”.
- Send it from the email address you use for Chit. If you use Sign in with Apple with a hidden email, tell us the relay address shown under Settings › your name › Sign-In & Security › Sign in with Apple › Chit.
- We may reply to check the request really comes from you.
- We delete the account within 30 days, usually much sooner, and email you when it’s done.
What is deleted
- Your account, sign-in methods, profile and username.
- The contacts, receipts (with their photos) and repayments you created. Receipts you sent to others disappear for them too.
- Your comments and friend connections.
- Your AI assistant conversations, proposed changes, usage records and consent records.
- The record of your plan. RevenueCat and the stores keep their own purchase records under their policies.
What is not deleted
- Data on your phone. Receipts and photos on your phone stay there after the account is deleted. Delete them in the app, or delete the app.
- Other people’s records. Receipts created by others stay with them. If they had added you as a contact, that entry stays in their list under the name they gave you, but is no longer linked to your account. Your confirmations and the changes you made on their receipts stay in their records, without a link to your account.
- Your subscription. Deleting your account does not cancel it. Cancel it in the App Store or Google Play (see Support).
- Backups and emails. Deleted data may stay in our providers’ backups for a limited period before it is overwritten. We keep our email exchange about your request for up to 12 months as a record that we handled it.
To delete only some data instead of the whole account, delete the receipts, photos or contacts in the app. Deleted receipts are removed from our server as well. See the Privacy Policy for more.
